A company that specialises in refrigeration based in Mpumalanga, Nelspruit is looking for a Branch Manager to join their team.

Job Description


·         Matric, non-negotiable

·         Minimum 8 years’ experience in the automotive or refrigeration industry preferred

·         Managerial experience beneficial

·         Must come from a sales background

·         Technical refrigeration product knowledge

·         Technical industry knowledge (Has existing networks in the industry)

·         Business acumen (understand how business works)

·         Sales knowledge


·         Ensure systems are running smoothly by driving the systems and policies put in place

·         Improving systems that prove faulty by identifying the problem; coming up with solutions; liaising with the General manager; and implementing the solution

·         Create systems to ensure efficiency of the branch by identifying problematic areas; researching possible solution;

·         communicating the problem and possible solutions to the General Manager if needed; and implementing the new system

·         Implement new systems by creating awareness with the employees; developing a desire to accept the new system; ensure the employees are knowledgeable and able to comply with the new systems and hold them appropriately accountable (ADKAR change management)

·         Ensure all purchases, expenses, sales and distribution documentation is kept up to date by conducting spot checks to verify that documentation is not laying around, lost or are not accounted for

·         Find new cost efficient delivery services by researching various courier services, their rates, areas and consistency and picking the most reliable and suitable service, in order to deliver stock to the customers or improve the delivery service to the customers if new delivery services are required

·         Oversee current delivery services by providing the delivery service company feedback on their performance and arranging permanent collection times

·         Maintain sufficient stock levels by reviewing the current stock levels in the warehouse and on SAP, compiling a list of stock requiring replenishment; and delegating the task of ordering stock to the relevant person if possible (this task does not apply to JHB branch managers)

·         Determine if IBT’s are possible through reviewing the IBT check sheet received from the Supply Chain Planner and verifying if the IBT is possible

·         Oversee transfers of stock from other branches (Buy outs and Inter branch transfers [IBTs]) by training internal sales representatives how to do so in a cost effective nature; see that transfers are done cost effectively as frequently as desired; and process and close the IBT on SAP*

·         Stock take and planning (different between head office and other areas)

·         Oversee that the cashier balances the payments received against the proof of deliveries accurately, and investigate if the Accounts department finds a discrepancy

·         Compare the petty cash float against the purchases made upon submitting a claim; and hold the appropriate person responsible if there are any discrepancies or unnecessary purchases made (this task does not relate to Johannesburg)

·         Review the branch’s performance by understanding the performance of customer groupings and motivating internal sales representatives to focus on poor performing customer groupings

·         Make decisions based on the current market trends by receiving feedback from sales representatives and using it in decision making
